This is just a quick video that explains why Columbus Ohio's NHL team, the Blue Jackets, have a bee as their mascot. There is no such thing as a blue jacket insect, so what is going on? Watch this video to find out,

Here are the main points from the video

  • there is no bluejacket insect, yet the Columbus Blue Jackets have one as their mascot
  • Bluejacket = a Naval seaman
  • Construction Battalion = the SeaBees
  • C.B. is SeaBee is Construction Battalion is Columbus Bluejackets. (one team logo is actually CB)
  • other professional sports teams in Columbus, OH have Naval/maritime names: The Crew, Destroyers, and Clippers

Whatever the exact reasons for all of this may be, they have something to do with Christopher Columbus floating his boat. There are a lot of dots to connect when it comes to that story, and what it has to do with a capital city in the midwest...
